When one of Southwest Florida’s brief summer storms rolls through, The Baker Museum is our go-to recommendation. Part of the Artis—Naples campus, it houses a genuinely impressive collection of modern and contemporary art across light-filled galleries, with rotating exhibitions that make it worth a return visit even if you’ve been before.
It’s an easy, air-conditioned few hours — wander the permanent collection, catch whatever special exhibition is on, and take a break in the museum café if you want to make a longer visit of it. The campus itself is worth a look too, with sculpture gardens for when the weather clears back up.
Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday afternoons. It’s a short drive from Park Shore Resort and a genuinely good option any day, not just a rainy one — but it’s the first place we mention when guests ask what to do if the forecast turns.
