Packing for Naples is more about editing than adding — Southwest Florida’s climate is forgiving, and Park Shore Resort’s amenities mean you need less gear than you’d think. Here’s our practical, no-fluff packing list.
Clothing: Light, Breathable, Casual
Naples runs warm and humid most of the year, so pack lightweight, breathable fabrics — cotton and linen over synthetics. A few swimsuits (you’ll rotate through them faster than you expect between beach and pool), cover-ups, shorts, and casual dresses will cover most days. Add one slightly nicer outfit if you’re planning a dinner on Fifth Avenue South or in Venetian Bay.
Sun Protection Is Non-Negotiable
Reef-safe sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and good sunglasses matter more here than almost anything else you’ll pack. The Florida sun is stronger than it feels, especially with the Gulf breeze keeping you from noticing how much sun you’re actually getting.
Footwear
Sandals or flip-flops for the resort and beach, and one pair of comfortable walking shoes if you’re planning to explore Venetian Bay or downtown Naples on foot. You won’t need much else.
What You Don’t Need to Bring
Skip the beach chairs, umbrellas, and pool towels — Park Shore Resort’s grounds and amenities largely cover this, and hauling extra gear through the airport is rarely worth it. Leave heavy jackets at home too; even Naples’ cooler winter evenings rarely call for more than a light layer.
A Few Practical Extras
A reusable water bottle, a light rain jacket if you’re visiting in summer (afternoon storms are brief but real), and a dry bag if you’re bringing electronics near the water are all worth the suitcase space.
Our Best Advice
Pack light. Naples’ pace encourages you to slow down, and dragging a heavy suitcase through the airport works against that from the start. Bring less than you think you need — you can always pick up anything you’ve forgotten at one of the shops in Venetian Bay.
